Following two seasons with the team, return-specialist Tim Maypray has been released by the Alouettes, Als Inside/Out has learned.
Maypray refused to be added to the team’s practice roster late last season, returning home instead. But he returned for the East Division semi-final, against Hamilton. At that time, Maypray and his agent reached a verbal agreement [...] Continue reading

Another new returner for Als
Unless Marc Trestman and his coaching staff has a last-minute change of heart, look for Tim Maypray to return as the Alouettes’ return-specialist this Sunday, in the East Division semifinal against Hamilton at Olympic Stadium.
That’s what a source told Als Inside/Out on Thursday.
Maypray, who began the season in the job, would be the fourth different [...] Continue reading
Guzman questionable for playoff game
Alouettes’ middle-linebacker Ramon Guzman suffered a sprained ankle in Saturday’s loss at British Columbia. That makes him questionable for Sunday’s East Division semifinal against Hamilton at Olympic Stadium.
The Als will practice for the first time this week on Thursday.
If Guzman can’t play, he might be replaced by non-import Marc-Olivier Brouillette, according to head coach Marc [...] Continue reading
Bo knows returning
Bo Bowling is about to be rewarded for his patience.
The rookie receiver, who has spent the entire season on the Alouettes’ practice roster, told Als Inside/Out in an exclusive interview on Wednesday that he’ll be handling punt returns this Saturday, at British Columbia. He’ll share kickoff returns with Diamond Ferri.
Bowling becomes the third different Montreal [...] Continue reading
Watkins, Bourke done for year
The Alouettes announced on Monday that wide-receiver Kerry Watkins and offensive-tackle Josh Bourke both sustained season-ending injuries on Sunday, against Calgary, and have been placed on the nine-game injured list.
Watkins suffered a fractured left fibula in the second quarter, but won’t require surgery. Bourke, meanwhile, tore his pectoral muscle in the fourth quarter and is [...] Continue reading
Alouettes’ notebook
WINNIPEG – Matt Dunigan speaks from experience. The former Canadian Football League quarterback believes he suffered about 12 concussions over his 14-year career. And he has dealt with post-concussion syndrome since retiring in 1996.
Dunigan, now a commentator for TSN, like virtually everyone else, is stunned to see Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo return only a week [...] Continue reading
Calvillo held out of practice
Conclusions were jumped to, undoubtedly, when Anthony Calvillo was on the field, but didn’t practice on Wednesday with the starting offence.
But Calvillo and head coach Marc Trestman denied it had anything to do with the blow to the head the veteran pivot sustained against Edmonton last Friday. Instead, Calvillo got to rest because of a [...] Continue reading
Anderson late scratch
EDMONTON – When the phone rings late at night, or early in the morning, the news seldom is good.
When Marc Trestman’s phone rang Thursday at 5:30 a.m., defensive-back Dwight Anderson was on the other end, informing the Alouettes head coach he wouldn’t be accompanying the team to Edmonton for Friday night’s game against the Eskimos.
Anderson [...] Continue reading
Green in, Watkins out
S.J. Green participated in Wednesday’s practice at Stade Hebert – the Alouettes’ only on-field session this week – and pronounced himself healthy for Friday’s game at Edmonton against the Eskimos.
Green suffered a rib injury against Winnipeg last Sunday, but the ribs aren’t fractured or displaced. Instead, Green said he suffered a deep bruise. He’ll protect [...] Continue reading
Green might face Esks
While receiver S.J. Green definitely is injured and is suffering from a rib issue, Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman hasn’t ruled him out of Friday’s game, at Edmonton.
Green will attempt to practice on Wednesday, following which a decision will be taken. He does have some damage to his rib-cage and cartilage. Were he to play, [...] Continue reading
