There was one notable absence from this morning’s Stampeder training camp practice, but it shouldn’t raise too many alarms.
Slotback Nik Lewis was an observer instead of a participant thanks to what Stamps coach and GM John Hufnagel described as a bit of a hamstring problem. It didn’t sound like it was of the serious variety, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Lewis back on the field for the afternoon practice, although with a pre-season game Friday against Edmonton looming in the headlights, Hufnagel might choose to give Lewis a little more rest.
Apart from Lewis, there wasn’t much movement on the injury list. It looked like offensive lineman J’Micheal Deane was more of a participant this morning, which is a promising sign. On the other hand, rookie defensive lineman Renard Williams wasn’t active today, and he might be on thin ice when it comes to sticking around beyond this weekend.
