Finally, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have something to cheer about.

On Tuesday, Chris Getzlaf was named Canadian player of the week after a strong showing in a loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

From the media release: Getzlaf had four catches for a season high 123 receiving yards and a touchdown in Thursday’s game against Toronto. The University of Regina product cut into the Argos’ lead early in the fourth quarter with a 70-yard touchdown reception. So far this season, Getzlaf has recorded 22 receptions for 398 yards and three touchdowns.

It’s small and not really a victory, but could this be a sign of better things to come?
